Creating a New Page

Remember: While working in edit mode you should save your work every 20 minutes to avoid losing your work.


Log into the ADMINISTRATION area on your website, see the login section for details
Navigate to the page that new page will be belong to. The new page will be created as an sub-page (child) of the page that you create it from. (Please consider your sitemap when creating new pages)
Locate New Page link on the page shown as below example:

This is usually located at the far bottom but may be located elsewhere depending on the design of your website.

Click on New Page. A new page popup window will appear as pictured below:

 
Complete the following details of new page:
 
Title This will be the name for the page and will appear on the menus as a selection item. (mandatory)
For Example : "Contact us" or "Bookings" or "Product Listing"
Position
Before/After
SiteMap Page List
This section involves 2 drop down menus,
 
1. The First drop down menu requires you choose Before or After a certain page
2. The Second drop down allows you select from a list of existing pages within your SiteMap.

"Working" or
"Online"
Page Status enables you to set the page to remain "viewable" (once you save changes) if left as "Online" (default) or hidden as "Working".
 
The default is 'Online'.
 
Page Description
(used in Site Rankin)
Should contain a brief description of what this new page is about. This description is used as metatags / key words to assist with search engine rankings and sits in the background, unseen anywhere on the website.
 
TIP : As search engines ignore lists of words, your page description must be in the form of "human readable" sentence/s - i.e., DO NOT just enter a list of key words.
Note: WebEd "page description" Limit = 255 Characters.
Caption
Use of the Caption facility within WebEd provides a means of replicating content from one or more child pages up onto a parent page - without the need to re-enter that data (and or images) more than once.
 
Content This section is where you add the page content, such as: text, images, forms etc. The WebEd Editor will help you with content editing.
Advance Settings                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
Hide from the Site Navigation This will remove the page from the site's navigation menu. For more information please click here
                                  Access using SSL When enabled, the contents of the page will only be displayed through a secure connection. You would need to have an SSL certificate for this option. If you need additional information about having SSL for your site, please contact support.
                                                   Template This indicateshow the page contents will be displayed. As a good starting point, it is suggested that you use the default template that gets applied to every page on your site. If you need to a custom template for your site you can call our office at 02 9411 3111.
                                       Keywords Similar to page descriptions, keywords entered here helps you increase your ranking in search engines.
                                                  Move To This allows you to move the page to a same or different section. Refer to this page for more information - Moving Pages

When you have completed the content click Save, which appears at the bottom right of the page.



This will initiate changes for the page then redisplay the updated page in the same window. Further changes can be made, but [UPDATE] must be clicked after each change to ensure the information is saved each time.

Click on Close to exit editing mode.
