Body Template

This is the main Template that gets applied to new pages as you create them on your site, body templates are a good way to ensure content is uniformly created across your website. The body template applies to a parent page and any page that is created underneath it, or any child of that page. Different body templates can be set up for different sections of your website, For example, Media Releases can set the content out differently to the pages in the About Us section.

NB. Body templates only apply to new pages. If you have already created a particular page, changing a body template will not affect the existing page. Instead login to the site and edit the page as required. See Editing and Changing Pages for more information.

To access Body Template, go to your website and login as an Admin
Click on "Launch the Admin module"
Go to 'Body Template' under Content tab

There are two steps to setup body templates.

1. First create the body template. If you already have a body template you want to use on a section then you can skip this step.

2. Tie the body template to a section. This will ensure any new sections will be created with default content for the editor.

Edit the Body template
You can see existing body templates by navigating to Admin, Content, Body Templates. Here is an example of existing body templates.
To edit any template click the Pencil (edit) icon of the template from the List of Body Templates..

Name: The name of the template being used. You can edit this particular template by clicking on its name.
Content: This is the actual content of the template.

Create New Template

Click on  Create New to add a new template
Fill in the following details in the Add/Edit Body Template window:

Body Template Name: Name for the new template
Body Template Content: The content for the body template which will be displayed when creating new page.

The content should be set up as a dummy page with dummy text and images, it is important to make sure that this page is set up without errors so that no errors are passed down to the content that is created from this template.

Click Create to create the body template.

Tying a body template to a section

Defining the Body Template or tying the body template to a page is done through the Pages admin. Don't forget that any Body Template set to a Page is also passed down to all children of that page.

1.Select the page you wish to tie the body template. Admin, Pages

2. Click on the page name to edit.

3. Select the Default Body Template from the drop down list of created templates
