Browser Settings
It is important to ensure that your system is configured to look at the most up to date version of your website. To do this you first need to ensure Internet Explorer is set up as follow to ensure best results when viewing your site.
There are two settings changes required to make your administration run smoothly.
Change the cache settings in internet explorer
The browser will often store versions of pages in a local cache instead of retrieving them from the server. Each time a page is updated, you want to ensure you are seeing the latest version of the page.
IE Version 8 & 9
- Go to your Tools / Internet Options / General Tab

Go to the section : Browsing History and click the settings button

In the Embedded dialog box click on "Every time I visit the page"

Click OK (closes the embedded dialog box)
- Click OK (closes the first dialog box)
IE Version 7
- Go to your Control Panel / Internet Options / General Tab

Go to the section : Browsing History and click the settings button

In the Embedded dialog box click on "Every time I visit the page"
- Click OK (closes the embedded dialog box)
- Click OK (closes the first dialog box)
IE Version 6
- Go to your browser, select Tools / Internet Options / Browsing History/Settings
- In the section :
'Check for a newer version of stored pages' Click on [Every visit to the
page]
- Click OK (closes the embedded dialog box)

Click OK (closes the first dialog box)
Show friendly HTTP error massages
By default the browser is set to
hide any error message from the user. When editing your website you will want to see any errors so they can rectified.
IE Version 8 & 9
- Go to your Tools / Internet Options / Advance Tab

Go down the list to find
"Show friendly HTTP error massages" under the browsing section.

Untick the Box
- Click OK (closes the first dialog box)
IE Version 7
- Go to your Control Panel / Internet Options / Advance Tab

Go down the list to find
"Show friendly HTTP error massages" under the browsing section.

Untick the box
- Click OK (closes the first dialog box)
