Freight Settings

There are 3 basic models by which fright can be applied, which model you use depends on your products and business practices. The WebEd freight set up allows for variations on the basic freight modules so as to allow you to set threshholds on shipping price, thresholds can be placed on a price or quantity basis.

Setting thresholds and encouraging users to add more items to their cart is a key way to improve sales volumes in your shopping cart.

The 3 basic domestic freight models are:

Australia Post method - Weight based or volume based
Weight Flagfall & Postcode based pricing
Fixed price method - per item or per order

The 3 basic international freight models are:

Australia Post method - Volume based
Fixed price method - per item or per order
Zone based pricing

All freight settings are Shopping Cart wide, which means that your settings apply to all products & all categories.

To Add a New Freight Setting

Select Add New to configure your freight settings or Select the name of an exisiting setting to edit it.

Enter a name for your freight setting that is descriptive of the setting.

Customer: The customer's name

Sequence: The date of the order

Freight Threshold Settings

Shipping Price Threshold: The amount in dollars you want this threshold set at, leave empty if not using price threshold.

An example of an effective price threshold would be to set the amount to $20 above the average price of items in your cart, say that is this amount is $30, set the threshold to $50. Anytime a customer orders an item in this bracket they will be notified of the threshold discount if they add another item to their cart.

Shipping Price Per Item After Threshold: The amount in dollars you want this threshold set to, leave empty if not using price threshold, setting the price per item to zer means that the customer get free shipping.

Threshold messages

Price Threshold Message: This is where you set the message that users will see when they are under price threshold.

Add $20 more in products to your cart to recieve a fright discount OR Add $20 more in products to your cart to qualify for free shipping.

Quantity Threshold Message This is where you set the message that users will see when they are under quantity threshold.

Message to display when Threshold is met: This is the message that users will see when they have reached any of the above thresholds.

Freight Calculation Methods

Domestic Freigh Calculation: This is where you set the Domestic Freight Calculations.

International Freigh Calculation: This is where you set the international Freight Calculations.

Select Submit

Go to Shopping Cart settings to tie the new Freight setting to your shopping cart where we are setting Freight Calculation Type
