Administration of Product Categories

Category Name: The name of the product category. |
|
Sequence: The sequence is the order the product categories will be displayed on the website. A sequence of 1 would display before a sequence of 5. |
|
Is Active: This indicates with a "yes" or "no" if the product category is displayed on the website. |
|
Number of Active Products: The number of products that are listed under this category. |
|
Date of Creation: The date the product category was created. |
|
Last Update: The date the product category was last updated. |
|
Late Update By: The person who last updated the product category. |
|
Adding a new Product Category
 Select
Add New to add a new product category.
Enter the details for your product category.
|
Category Name: The name of the product category. |
|
Category HTML: The text or images to display at the top of the product category page. |
|
Category Image: The product category image to display on the product listing page. For example, you may wish to have an image to represent clothes, one for shoes etc. |
|
Category Micro Image: A smaller thumbnail image of the product category image. This can be used across the site to promote this product within other categories. |
|
Sequence: The sequence is the order the product categories will be displayed on the website. A sequence of 1 would display before a sequence of 5. The sequence is optional. If you do not fill in this field, the product categories will be displayed in the order they were created. |

Product List Template: The template that will be used for listing all the of the products in this category. For more information on templates, see product templates. |
|
Related Product List Template: The template that will be used for listing the related products in this category. If you do not have any related products for this category, you do not have to select a template. For more information on templates, see product templates. |
|
WebEd Template: The WebEd template that is used for this category. If you would like to use the default template for your web pages you do not have to select a template. For more information on WebEd templates, see body templates. |
|
Is Active: Check this box if you would like this product category to appear on your website. |

Add to create a new Product Category.
Note: If you do not have any products listed under a product category, the category will not appear on the website.
