External Hyperlinks

External Hyperlinks are used to take a visitor to a page on another external website, for example, information on another site such as suppliers product pages for more information or riciprocal marketing arrangement.

To Insert an External Hyperlink:

You must enter the edit mode before inserting external hyperlinks.

Locate the URL and page address of the destination page. This is the address on the address bar of the browser, be sure to copy the whole address.

It will appear for example like: http://www.customercommunity.com.au/

Highlight the text or image and select the Hyperlink icon.

Enter the link details in 'Hyperlink - Web Dialog' pop-up box.

Source Fields:

In the Source field enter the destination URL in the freeform box that is circled below. (Paste the URL that you was copied in Step One above)

http://
To link to an external website or image location

https://
To link to a secure page

mailto:
to link to an email addresses

ftp://
to link to an FTP (file transfer protocol) location

The drop down list refers to file protocol. Most websites are "http", so if the entire URL including "http://" is pasted into the freeform box, there is no need to use this selector.
