Importing text into WebEd
You may want to paste text from documents you have already created, for example a 'Microsoft Word' document. This may create problems as these programs use special formatting which may disrupt and override your website styles and formatting. You can still use this text but you need to follow a few simple steps.
Copy the text you wish to transfer onto your website |
Go to the page you want to insert the text and click Edit page. Position your cursor where you want the text to appear then click
Upload Word Content on the bottom tabs.

 Tick the
Add content by uploading word document and select the word document that you want to add and click
Upload.

This should convert the copied text to your formatting.
NOTE: Do not use the normal PASTE icon or to paste.
Some special rules! |
HTML default is to double space all text. To single space text you must press
<SHIFT+ENTER> at the end of each line.
CAUTION: by single spacing text in this way you will not be able to treat each line as an individual line. That is if you wanted to centre align line 1 and right align line 2 you would not be able to do so. To get around this you can create a paragraph in a package like Microsoft Word then import the text using the WORD icon on the tool bar as described above.
